Ors Communal Cemetery
The Communal Cemetery lies to the north-west of the village.
Ors was cleared by the 6th Division on the 1st November, 1918. There are now over 60, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, a small number are unidentified. The plot covers an area of 189 square metres.
Wilfred Owen
Né en 1893 (Plas Wilmot, Grande-Bretagne), il a 20 ans quand il débarque à Bordeaux, où il enseigne sa langue. La Grande Guerre le surprend sur le continent. Il s'engage dans l'armée britannique et rejoint le front de la Somme en 1917. L'enfer est au rendez-vous.
Le 4 novembre 1918, le lieutenant Owen tombe à Ors , soit sept jours avant l'armistice.
